Reflections on VITAL: Denver

Reflections on VITAL: Denver

It’s been a little over a week since VITAL: Denver and people have been asking me what happened. I can tell you some exciting numbers. About 150 attended, with 11 Lead Pastors, 31 additional church staff, three representatives of the Navigator’s National Church Ministry, the Evangelism Director from the Colorado Baptist Convention, and groups from 18 churches. One church brought 19 people from 2 hours away!  I can tell you that people were engaged and animated because of what they heard from excellent speakers (Jeff Klein, Hugh Halter, and Mary Schaller).  I can tell you that today I’m getting emails, texts,...Read more …
The Trial Meeting

The Trial Meeting

We were all set, excited, and a little nervous! A few minutes after 7 p.m. my doorbell rang. Our first Trial Meeting participant was here! I’d been holding on to Exodus 14:14 for several days: The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm. Now all I had to do was put that command into practice! Brianne, Leah and I (the triad, pictured here) were prayed up and prepared with eleven friends and neighbors indicating they would come to our “Coffee & Questions” Trial Meeting. We knew that building the relationships before starting our Q Place was crucial, and...Read more …
On the Radio – Walk the Way

On the Radio – Walk the Way

This is Walk the Way, brought to you by Q Place. I’m Jeff Klein. I was talking with a farmer once and had to ask: Why does every farm I see have a broken down barn? His answer was simple: No farmer is concerned with his barns. The pride of the farmer is the field and crops. No farmer celebrates the magnificence of his barn. No seed is sown there. The seed is sown in the field. This got me thinking about the church where things are just the opposite. We celebrate our “big barns” but how does this help...Read more …

Jesus 3:12 and Membership

Jesus 3:12 In our last edition of On Q, we announced Q Place’s recently launched strategy called Jesus 3:12 – a name reflective of Jesus’ circles of discipleship in His earthly ministry. He chose the Twelve, but we also see Him interacting the most closely with a small circle of three. He consistently gave them a greater level accountability, transparency, and sharing in the revelation of truth. These three, Peter, James, and John, became core leaders in the earliest days of the Church as the Twelve were empowered to be His witnesses and spread the Kingdom of Jesus in people’s...Read more …
The President’s Corner

The President’s Corner

Our president, Mary Schaller, has been on sabbatical this summer. As we headed into that season back in June, I was rejoicing to see how God had brought us to the time and place when Mary could step away for a time of refreshing and renewal, of seeking God and discerning His direction for the next season of the ministry of Q Place. For me, some of the intensity of the previous months had lifted and many operational pieces were slipping naturally into place. Our roles in the office were clearly set before us and tasks were either clear or...Read more …
More VITAL Events: Coming Soon!

More VITAL Events: Coming Soon!

After three successful regional VITAL events last winter and spring in Detroit, the San Francisco Bay area and Seattle, Q Place is excited to present two more VITAL events this fall! On September 23, VITAL: Denver comes to Bear Valley Church in Lakewood, Colorado; and on October 22, VITAL: SF East Bay comes to Community Presbyterian Church in San Francisco, California, specifically reaching the greater Oakland area. These one-day conferences provide a great way for participants to catch a vision for Q Place and our ancient/future model of mobilization that is designed to create disciples who feel empowered to become disciple makers...Read more …

Through this series of videos our hope is that you would find your very DNA changing in such a way that the spoken and lived gospel becomes...Read more …
Q Place – At the Global Leadership Summit

Q Place – At the Global Leadership Summit

An incredibly generous man gave the Chicago based Q Place team tickets to the Global Leadership Summit at Willow Creek. In addition, Jan Teat attended remotely in Fort Wayne, Fran Goodrich in Denver, Susan Burbank in Seattle and Mary Schaller in Spokane. All were galvanized by the world class presenters and came away stirred by the powerful ideas shared. The Chicago Team’s major takeaway was a dominant theme for GLS 2015, centering around the concept of creating a safe organizational and corporate community culture for failure and creativity. Many speakers addressed this issue from a variety of angles, asserting that in an environment of belonging and purpose, of empowerment and...Read more …
